From Big Screen Plasma
to iPod: Mobile
Devices as the New Entertainment Platform
Earlier this year, EQUS released a report on trends
and user habits projections in this segment. The report was highly
publicized in several technology and general magazines including
InfoWorld, eWeek, Forbes.com, Dow Jones Market Watch and Time Magazine.
The study highlighted several trends and
preferences toward downloading content with significant implications to
media and entertainment companies provisioning downloading of music and
video entertainment to consumers.
We are preparing to launch a follow on survey in
January. Since the original study was conducted shortly before the
release of Apple's iPhone, we expect the follow-on study to reflect
significant major market momentum in consumer tastes, preferences and
behavior in this rapidly evolving market segment.
Clients are given an opportunity to provide input
on the research agenda, request specific questions and sponsor sections
of the study. To learn more, please contact Renee Silas (renees@equsgroup.com)
by November 27.

The Gift of Feedback:
Getting it AND using it!
Be
assured that we eat our own dog food at EQUS! To paraphrase Oracle's
Larry Ellison, your preeminent technology market research firm turned
its voice-of the-customer process on itself this quarter and asked
clients to tell us what you liked and what you would like to see
improved. We took it all in and our team has done significant work in
assimilating and implementing the findings into our standards. We also
mined research data for what stands out as unique about EQUS. Here's the
top three.
Unique Factor #1:
Our project execution processes are unparalleled in the industry. The
outcome is on time and on target completion on every project. Forgive me
if I sound like I am gloating but I have worked hard on this and hearing
you say it is extremely gratifying.
Unique Factor #2:
The quality of our respondents set a high bar among research
vendors. We heard this over and over. Particularly significant in this
day and age of over-used focus group participants and issue with
integrity of online panels and samples. It tells me that our
"hand-picked" approach to this critical project task is paying off.
Unique Factor #3:
Our meaningful and strategic insights on the data separate us
from the herd. Also very gratifying to hear. We are not mere purveyors
of data, but as one of you expressed, "a strategic and indispensible
partner to our success"
Excerpts from quote file:
"I really like the level of communication and quick
response from the EQUS team. They understand our company, and they
understand that when we do things, we typically need to do them at a
fast pace and have a lot of last minute things we have to deal with and
EQUS is very accommodating with those issues."
"Things that I found especially valuable would be
awareness and understanding of my business, high quality respondents and
rapid turn around time."
"EQUS does a good job of gathering a good customer
base, a good cross segment of who we would typically like to engage
with."
"The EQUS Group really tries to learn about our
business so that when we have a need for these research projects,
they're thinking about the past and future and from a more comprehensive
aspect."
